Appeal for donations Restoration of ticket sales trailer

Dear friends and sympathisers of the Zurich tram

As you have already heard, the Zurich Tram Museum Association has seized the unique opportunity to take over a former VBZ sales trailer and restore it to its original condition of the early 1960s. The vehicle is almost like a "barn find" and has been in professional hands in a body shop for restoration for a few months now. The project is being managed by a private individual close to us, who is also very generously contributing a considerable amount towards the costs. The restoration is progressing well, with completion, transfer to the tram museum and inauguration planned for next spring.

The Zurich Tram Museum Association itself is also contributing to the costs. In order to be able to support further projects with the association's assets, which have been carefully accumulated over the years, we are asking for financial support for this restoration from our large circle of sympathisers. Please use the payment slip with QR code in the download at the top right (note ticket sales tag). The total cost is expected to be around CHF 30,000. The bodywork has been refurbished and the next steps are the rewiring and replacement of the interior panelling. Finally, the new blue and white colour scheme and the braking system will be installed so that the vehicle can be towed on the road.
